What do you think God is doing in the world today?

“And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;” Acts 17:26, KJV

I was at a meeting made up of a small group of pastors once when someone asked this question: “What do you think God is doing in the world today?” Personally, I think that’s a loaded question because there will be several answers with none of them being wrong. As some of the pastors were sharing their thoughts, my own thoughts drifted and I found myself being challenged to answer that loaded question: “What is God doing in the world today?” Instantly, this rose up in my spirit: “God is doing what He has always been doing, He is positioning his people on the earth.”

Now, using the guideline of the Law of First Mention, you will notice that He positions mankind in the Garden of Eden. Since then God has been positioning His people all over the world and He will continue to do so for the advancement of His Kingdom.

In the above scripture we read that God has made ‘of one blood all nations of men to dwell on all the face of the earth.’ Have you ever wondered why you were born in a certain country or ethnic background? Or wondered why you have that skin tone? Or why you were born into that family? Hang on, there’s more. It goes on and says that God has ‘determined the times before appointed.’ I am so glad I was not born in 1200 AD, or the 1800s – how about you? Personally, I enjoy all of the modern conveniences that I have access to. So even your birthday was determined by God. And wait, there is more: it says He determined the bounds of your habitations. You live where God has placed you.

So you are not a mistake. If you can accept how God made you – your ethnic background, the time you were born and where you live – you will begin to understand some things about yourself and God’s plan for your life. God has positioned you. Now if there is going to be any change in where you live or your habitation you better hear from God before you make a move. Wherever you find yourself, this is your purpose: “that they (you) should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us.” (Acts 17:27, KJV)

Our purpose is to seek the Lord, feel after Him and find Him. This is us getting direction from the Lord for our lives: for our next job, career, ministry, church, or seeking the Lord about moving across the country or overseas. He wants to position you, and you should want to be positioned by Him. Why? “For in Him we live, and move, and have our being.” (Acts 17:28, KJV)

CONFESSION

LORD, POSITION ME!

PRAYER

Holy Spirit, I submit my plans to You. You have positioned me and I will not move out of position unless I hear from You. In Jesus’ name, AMEN.
